The diplomatic relations between Cuba and Belarus have a rich history. Cuba and Belarus established diplomatic relations on April 16, 19924. Both countries are members of the Non-Aligned Movement. In 2007, Cuba was one of 33 countries to vote against a United Nations General Assembly resolution titled "Situation of human rights in Belarus". Following the 2020 Belarusian presidential election, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel reiterated the island’s solidarity with the "legitimate president of that country, Alexander Lukashenko, and the brother Belarusian people".

The current head of the mission is Mr. Santiago Perez Benitez, who serves as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary1. The ambassadors play a vital role in representing Cuba’s interests in Belarus and strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.
